Tantalum Carbide /TaC Powder
Tantalum Carbide is a refractory compound which has the appearance of dark brown or tawny powder, with the molecular weight of 192.86 g/mol, theoretical content of combined-carbon of 6.224%, density of 14-14.5 g/cm3, melting point of 3875-4150 °C, boiling point of 5500 °C. It does not dissolve in various acids (except the mixture of hydrofluoric acid and nitric acid). TaC powder has good chemical stability. It has a high oxidation resistance when heated to 1000 to 1100 °C in the air. Besides, it is widely used in carbide additives, also as molding and anti-oxidation coating material, as well as an important raw material in cermet material.
